Welcome To
The FyreMedic's Space
My friends (and enemies) call me "Bear". Why? Because (so they say) I have the disposition of a Grizzly Bear with a thorn in his behind! I would like to welcome you to my little slice of Internet heaven. Enjoy your visit...

I collect Fire Department and EMS patches. I've been collecting patches for 22 years. If you would like to trade, drop me a line. Be sure to visit my Virtual Patch Board located elsewhere on this site.
So a little about myself...
I've been involved with Fire Suppression, Rescue, Emergency Medical Services and Public Safety Dispatch for over twenty-five years. I currently work as a Paramedic for Guardian EMS in Bastrop County, Texas.
When I'm not at work I spend as much time as I can with my three children. I also enjoy many leisure activities. I am a competitive pistol shooter, and enjoy hunting and fishing. I am a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, the North American Fishing Club and the North American Hunting Club.
I'm a serious bookworm, and especially enjoy the works of Louis L'Amour, Zane Grey, Tom Clancy, Stephen Coonts, Stephen White, Robert B. Parker & Katherine Kurtz. I like westerns, science fiction, and a good suspenseful mystery. I love music, especially Classic Rock & Jazz, and I won't go anywhere without my iPod. I'm an avid amateur photographer, with just about anything fair game to be a potential subject.
I'm also a pretty good cook, especially when it comes to cooking Cajun food & Texas-style or Memphis-style barbeque.
